THE FOX CITIES

Located along the banks of the Fox River and the shores of Lake Winnebago in east central Wisconsin lies a cluster of dynamic communities known collectively as "The Fox Cities". With a population of more than 207,000, the Fox Cities area is one of the largest and fastest growing urban centers in Wisconsin.

The Fox Cities area is comprised of 18 municipalities, the largest of which is the City of Appleton

Major employers include Kimberly-Clark, Plexus Corporation and Georgia Pacific, among many others.

The City of Appleton boasts a wealth of attractions, including:

  • A strong education program that includes Lawrence University, Fox Valley Technical College and 24 public and 13 parochial schools
  • A major convention center, the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel
  • A vibrant downtown that includes activities, offices, entertainment and dining

  • A wealth of cultural amenities including the Appleton Public Library, Outagamie County Historical Society Museum and recently completed Fox Cities Performing Arts Center
  • A variety of recreation programs, 29 city parks, two outdoor pools, one indoor pool, more than six miles of recreation trails and an 18-hole golf course
  • The Fox Cities Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners in the Midwest League
