This building was the original headquarters of Aid Association for Lutherans, now a part of Thrivent Financial. It was built in two phases; the east side was built in 1952 and the west side was built in 1964. The building consists of 235,000 rentable square feet.
The building is essentially a cube with a center core and open office space unencumbered by columns. Typical floor to floor span is 15'-2". The facility has a total of 10 office floors of approximately 22,000 square feet each. In addition to the 10 office floors, the building has a basement level, a sub-basement level, a full floor area (11th floor) and a penthouse level used primarily for mechanical systems and building operations. Four original passenger and one freight elevator serves the floors.
Originally the first floor was dedicated to retail space. It has various separate heating and cooling systems with some back up provided by the main boiler and chiller plant.
The building has a category 5 data cabling system throughout.
There are three surface parking lots totaling 388 parking stalls from one to three blocks from the building. The City of Appleton's Washington Street ramp is directly across the street from this facility.
